Fiberglass pools are manufactured pools made from a fiberglass composite material.
To install the pool, the construction crew digs a hole to fit the size of the preformed shell. They set the necessary plumbing, fill the bottom with sand, and drop the preformed pool structure into the hole. They then level the pool, hook up all the equipment and electrical and backfill the area around the pool. After which, they usually pour a concrete deck around the pool and add the finishing touches.
Gunite pools or their closely related relative, shotcrete pools are the most popular pools installed today. To build one of these pools, the construction crew excavates, (or digs a hole), installs the rough plumbing and puts a steel reinforced bar framework in the hole, forming the shape of the pool. The crew then sprays a thick coat of the gunite (or shotcrete) mix around the bars, creating the shell of the pool. They trowel this to a rough surface. At this time, coping and tile is installed. The final phase involves putting a smooth coating, referred to as plaster, over the rough concrete shell.
